JOSH THACKER, a Minnesota native, has directed a wide range of work including national spots, innovative web content and music videos. Josh is more than just a director. He's also a photographer, an editor, a motion graphics artist, and an all around creative force. Whether he's bringing dolls to life through stop motion for a YMCA spot, or animating characters for Target's Shaun White Webisodes, Josh's fresh perspective is conveyed in his work. Josh views his job as storytelling. As he says, "it doesn't matter if you're creating content for TV or the Web, people are moved by good stories."
BRIAN SLATER was born in Illinois and grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil. For the past decade, he's been cutting national spots for Target, Burger King, Capital One, H&R Block and many others. Brian first collaborated with Josh in the 48 Hour Film Competition, which they won. They have been collaborating ever since. Working with Thacker on set, Slater brings an editor's eye to production. As Brian puts it, "I bring my expertise to the shoot and Josh brings his expertise to the edit. We think this kind of cross pollination allows us to make superior spots."
IAN BEARCE studied art and film at Mass College of Art (Boston). He won a Sundance fellowship, re-located to LA and climbed the ranks. For the past six years, Ian was the Head of Partizan (LA) and has handled all the biggest brands: Coke, McDonald's, Microsoft, etc. As Bearce states, "Whether it's a 7M ten spot package with three directors in two weeks for Chrysler in Shanghai or a run-and-gun $50K Coke webisode trailer in Chile, it's all problem solving to me and I simply love it. " Bearce admits that he loves the creative puzzle, "Please send me your crazy ideas, boards and budgets... I'll tell you what I think and I've probably seen worse."
